Welcome to Junior Redwings Basketball. It's that time again for boys and girls to join us for another exciting year of youth basketball! Please take advantage of our web site capabilities by printing off sign-up forms in your own home, allowing you to register by mail for the upcoming 2007-2008 season.
Who? - This is for all boy basketball players 3rd - 6th grade, and all girl basketball players 3rd - 8th grade. (Note: The 7th and 8th grade boys sign up will be in early Feb.)
When? - Sign up will be Monday night Oct 8th from 6:00 - 8:30 pm at Oakview South Elementary School Cafeteria. Mailed forms must be post marked by Oct. 6th.
Season Information - All practices will start in the first week of Nov. 2007. We will have one or two practices per week. The gym space will be limited due to the number of teams that we may have. Games will start in the first week of Dec. and run into Feb 2008. There will be no games or practices during Christmas break.
Fees? - The price will be $65.00 per child.
The 3rd and 4th grade Monday night girl league fee is $40 per child.

A late fee of $10.00 will be accessed after October 8th. Mail-in forms must be postmarked by Oct 6th.

SPECIAL INFORMATION
There are four forms that must be filled out for 5th - 8th grade.
#1 Parent's Code of Ethics (Both parents need to sign)
#2 Permission to Play and Release of Liability
#3 St Johns basketball Information Form
#4 Tri-County Youth Basketball Association
(The Tri-County form does not have to filled out for 3rd & 4th graders.)
Forms can also be picked up at the SJYAA building during football practice starting the week of Oct 1st.
All games played at the Middle School and in other cities, will have a gate fee of around $7.00 per family.
The Tri-County League is a travel league! All teams 5th thru 8th will play in the Tri-County League this season. There will be two divisions (A&B) within the league this year. All teams will travel to many different schools in the Tri-County Area. All home games will be played at St. Johns Middle School.

The 3rd & 4th grade SJYAA Boys Intramural League will be the same as last season. All the games will be played Saturday mornings at St. Johns Middle School.
The 3rd and 4th grade SJYAA Monday Night Girls' Intramural League/Camp.
They will have all practices and games at Oakview South Elementary School, on Monday nights. They will be split into equal teams and play real basketball games with instructional court monitors. They will have a competitive Tournament at the end of the season.
We will have one 4th grade girls' Tri-County Trainer Team. All girls on this team must play in the Monday night league. This team is for girls that meet the appropriate skill level. This league will play on Sat/Sun at many different schools in the Tri-County area. This league will cost $40.
The 7th & 8th grade boys sign up will not be until the second week in February. Fliers can be picked up in the Middle School Main Office once it has been announced at lunch. Teams will play in the Tri-County League. There will be two divisions (A&B) within the league this year.
SJYAA TEAMS
We plan to have three boy teams in 5th grade, and three boy teams in 6th grade.
We plan to have two girl teams in 5th grade, and two girl teams in 6th grade.
We plan to have one or two girl teams in 7th grade, and one or two girl teams in 8th grade.
We will be limited to eight boy teams in 3rd and 4th grade. These two age groups are combined.
We will not be limited in Monday night girl teams, if we have enough coaches.
We plan to have four teams. These two age groups are combined.
Tri-County League rules, schedules, directions, and standings can be followed in www.laingsburghoops.com (click on Tri-County links.) This is the official web site. All coaches and parents must check this website for updated schedule changes and information, throughout the season.
Refunds will be given for any reason until November 14. There will be a $15 fee charged. This is due to league fees that are already paid when rosters are sent in and completed. This rule will apply for all players in SJYAA basketball.
You will receive your team picture information from your coaches after the season begins.
